FARFLUNG GAME · A SMALL JOURNEY AROUND A BIG WORLD
The Farflung game is a five-clue geography challenge you can play directly on this page. The map is the board: read a clue, choose a country, and drop your pin. Some clues have several correct countries, so the most obvious answer is not always the only answer.
Each round asks for a geographic connection: a shared border, a capital, a landmark, or an island. A short hint helps you narrow the search without giving away the answer.
Tap or click a country on the map, then confirm your choice. On a small screen, use the country list beneath the clue if a narrow border or island is hard to touch. You can zoom and drag the map, too.
After each pin, the game shows every accepted country and a reason it fits. Your five picks appear in a final report. Today's progress and result remain in this browser after a refresh; the next set opens at 00:00 UTC.
This Farflung geography game mixes five kinds of clues each day: a neighboring country, a capital city, a landmark, an island and a country touching two others. The border questions use the same country geometry as the interactive map, so every accepted answer can be found and selected here.
Some answers are shared. Hispaniola holds both Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Victoria Falls stands along the Zambia–Zimbabwe boundary. After each pin, the complete accepted set is shown rather than leaving you to guess why your choice counted.
The first question bank contains 30 daily expeditions and 150 distinct clues. A new set opens at 00:00 UTC. After day 30, this initial bank repeats until a new edition is published. The country selector keeps the same challenge usable when a map region is difficult to tap.
Yes. The map and controls adapt to narrow screens. Tap a country or use the country selector below each clue. The selector is especially helpful for small islands and tightly packed borders.
